So I worked my first festival this past weekend. It was great. I got to meet a ton of people and got great responses on my work. The potting benches and planters were a hit. I passed out a good number of cards and have already been reached to do some custom work!
If you're checking out the blog because you came by the tent Saturday, welcome and thanks! If you're interested in having me do some work for you, please email me at imperfectionsbychad@gmail.com. Turn around on smaller projects should be a few days. Larger projects can take up to two weeks.
As you look through the blog, some of the items throughout are no longer available but I plan on replacing inventory over the next few weeks so get those requests in!
Thanks again for making my first festival a success!!!

Antique Hardware
Liz and I went shopping yesterday in a few antique stores...looking for inspiration among other things. I ended up finding a ton of antique handles, hooks, casters and other hardware. The goal is to add them to my projects to spice them up. I know I will be using them on new projects...I may even got back and add on to some of the older projects as well.

Let's Get Started
I've always been the creative/artsy one in my family. I'm pretty sure I got those genes from my aunt Vicky. When I was a kid, it was drawing. As a grown-up, my creativeness has evolved to cover some graphic design and wood-working projects...which brings me to the purpose of this blog...
I've been re-purposing old wooden pallets into furniture and decorations "to-order" for a little while now and have received great feedback on my work. I spend time on weekends looking through antique shops and surplus stores, hoping to find more inspiration for my next project. I seem to have found a knack for building projects from pallets and I want to use this blog to showcase my work.
So if my work is so great, why am I calling it "Imperfections by Chad"? Old pallets are a fun media to work with. Just like snowflakes, every board I work with is one-of-a-kind. Rusty nail heads, faded company stamps, and barely recognizable numbers add to the unique items I make. When you work with a media such as this, it's easy to look at these unique aspects of the wood and call it "imperfect." In my mind, imperfect isn't a negative thing. In fact, I tend to think that my art is "perfectly imperfect."
As time goes by, I'll be posting newly completed projects...some of which I've completed for someone and others that are available for purchase if you're interested. I am also planning on taking my wares to local festivals in an effort to please my wife, mother, and countless others who have proclaimed "you should sell this stuff at festivals!" This is my first blog and I'm excited about the possibilities it offers. Please feel free to contact me if you have requests or questions, and comment on my work as I post it!
